Paul van Dyk aka PvD, will debut in the realm of classical music on a special night in Frankfurt/Germany.
Mark your calendars for February 13 when the "MUSIC DISCOVERY PROJECT 2009: DJ Legend Meets Star Conductor" takes place at Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle.
Paul van Dyk is known as master of electronic music. The Berlin resident already remixed songs for superstars like Justin Timberlake, Depeche Mode or U2 - just to name a few. As a dj he’s a frequent traveler who plays the best clubs on the globe, flying to London, Tel Aviv, Miami or Mexico City. YOU FM convinced Paul van Dyk to collaborate with the HR-Sinfonieorchester (symphony orchestra of hessen radio) for a special one night only at the YOUniverse. At the Music Discovery Project 2009 event, which takes place on February 13th at 7pm at Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderhalle, the "music planets" of dj legend Paul van Dyk and the classic magician and conductor star Paavo Järvi meet.
Paul van Dyk already was awarded with many national and international music prizes. He was voted "No. 1 DJ in the World" in 2005 and 2006 by the readers of "DJ Mag". The Berlin citizen as well works as a moderator on several radio stations and likes to try new things regarding his music. According to him, he quite has great respect for the Music Discovery Projekt: "I have to completely rearrange and produce anew every track i’d like to play at the event. Next i have to check every new version, practice and see if it works out that way. The orchestration is another addon to the music which comes last."
At Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle, the electronic music artist and Paavo Järvi, the conductor of the HR-Sinfonieorchester, experiment with the musicstyles of far away galaxies. Both interpret "Die Planeten" (the planets) by Gustav Holt, the mighty orchestra suite with it’s powerful sound. Even fans of "Star Trek", Star Wars" and "The Simpsons" already could encounter Holst’s "Planeten-Rhythm" (rhythm of planets).
