Nuestra sociedad: es la utopía . . . aun cuando sabemos que no existirá.

Pueden odiarnos o mal entendernos, pueden ser indiferentes a nuestra existencia.
Solo esperamos que no se nos juzgue pues nosotros nunca les juzgaremos.

No somos criminales. No somos drogadictos. No estamos desilusionados. No somos niños ingenuos. Somos una entidad masiva, una aldea tribal, global, que supera cualquier ley establecida por el hombre, así como la geografía y el tiempo sí mismo.
Somos masivos. Somos Uno solo.

Estamos formados del sonido mismo. del golpe lejano, estrenduoso y distorsionado por el viento que es como el latir del corazón materno que da calma en el vientre, este de concreto, de acero y cableado. y allí, en su lecho cálido y húmedo, en la completa oscuridad, aceptamos que somos todos iguales. No solamente ante la oscuridad, y ante nosotros mismos, sino ante la música que se cierra de golpe en nosotros y que atraviesa nuestras almas: todos somos iguales. Y en algun lugar entre los 35Hz logramos sentir la mano de Dios a nuestras espaldas, alentándonos, empujándonos a consolidar nuestras mentes, nuestros cuerpos, y nuestros espíritus.

Guiándonos a voltear para juntar las manos con nuestros hermanos y elevarlas, compartiendo la alegría incontrolable que sentimos al crear esta burbuja mágica que puede… al menos por una noche, protegernos de los horrores, los atrocidades y la contaminación del mundo exterior. Y es en este mismísimo instante que cada uno de nosotros nace en verdad.

Nos congregamos en almacenes o edificios abandonados que la sociedad ha desechado y les damos vida por solo una noche. La llenamos con un palpitar vibrante, fuerte y lleno de vida en su forma más pura y más intensa, y en estos espacios intentamos liberar la incertidumbre hacia el futuro que no han podido estabilizar y asegurar para el resto de nosotros. Intentamos hacer a un lado las inhibiciones, liberarnos de los tabúes y las trabas puestas por ustedes para acallar su conciencia y encontrar en ello paz.

Intentamos sobrescribir la programación establecida, con la cual han intentado adoctrinarnos desde el momento mismo en que nacimos. La programación que nos enseñó a odiar, que nos enseña a juzgar, que dice que hay que retroceder y esconderse en el agujero más cercano y más conveniente. Esa programación que inclusive nos dice como subir escaleras, saltar a través de aros, correr en laberintos y andar como el hámster sobre la rueda. La programación que nos da de comer en la cuchara de brillante plata con la que intentan alimentarnos en vez de hacerlo con nuestras propias manos. La programación que nos hace cerrar nuestras mentes, en vez de abrirlas por completo.

Hasta que el sol se levante ante nuestros ojos, revelando la realidad del mundo que han creado, bailamos ferozmente con nuestros hermanos y hermanas celebrando nuestra vida, nuestra cultura, y los valores en los que creemos Paz, Amor, Libertad, Tolerancia, Unidad, Armonía, Expresión, Responsabilidad y Respeto.
Nuestro enemigo es la ignorancia. Nuestra arma la información. Nuestro crimen es que romper y desafiar cualquier ley que intente detener nuestra celebración de existencia. Así que sepan que talvez puedan cerrar una fiesta en cualquier noche en alguna ciudad en cualquier país o continente de este hermoso planeta, más nunca podrán cerrar la celebración entera. Pues no tienen ese poder, no importa qué, la música nunca parará. La voluntad y el latido de este corazón nunca se desmoronará.

La fiesta nunca terminará.

after party -n a party which occurs in a different space the next morning, generally after the previous party has been shut down, usu. runs from between 7am - 9am to 3pm - 6pm

bar star -n an individual, usu. male who goes to a rave to try and drink alcohol, hit on
innocent raver girls, cause fights and ruin the entire vibe of the party
BK -n Burger King on Granville, common hang out & meeting area for kids and

bunk -n when something is foul, not good or just plain sucks (this party is bunk dude)
burnt -adv a feeling of total exhaustion usu. resulting from many hours or days of partying
busted -adj term for when a party is prematurely ended, usu. by police for noise, fighting(rare) or
a (unjust)fire code violation
2. being caught by security or police with drugs in your possession
3. being caught by security doing drugs at a , usu. in a bathroom stall
candy kid -n *see candy raver
candy raver -n one who goes to raves usu. wearing sparkles, bright clothing, a large number
of bracelets, visor etc
chill, chillin -v to take a break or rest
concession -n vendor at a who normally sells overpriced items such as water, candy, fruit,
glowsticks to ravers who have no other choice
crashed -v 1. to sleep (i crashed at his house)
dope -adj something which is very cool (those are dope pants)
e-mission -v the normally unsuccessful act of trying to do something while very high (eg. telling
someone, "I'm going to get some water, want some?" then returning an hour later
with no water)
flail -v (-ed, -ing) 1. to act crazy
2. to do something that is not right yet should have been under
normal circumstances
3. to say or do something completely ridiculous causing embarrassment

flyer -n the main promotional tool for promoters, lists information about a given party usu.
quite graphical and catering to a ravetype way of thinking
flyering -v the act of distributing flyers to ravers for an upcoming party, usu. occurs at the end
of a party as people are exiting the venue
going off -v when it feels impossible to stop dancing
guest list-n a list of selected people who, for one reason or another, are associated with the
promotor and get into the for free
hardcore -adj 1. doing something to it's extreme
2. very committed to doing something
harsh -adj something not good (man that harsh!)
headliner -n the DJ with top booking at a party, usu. spins between 1am and 4am

hella -adv a large amount of something
homebase -n 1. a spot at a party where a group of friends leave all their belongings such as
backpacks and bags (where are we going to homebase?)
2. a place for meeting, congregation and 4:20 at a party
hook me up when another person acts on your behalf to procure something, usu. drugs

hurtin' a term used to ridicule someone or something

conversation. and usu. used in conjunction with the last 3 or 4 words from the previous
sentence.

trippy -adv 1. seeing or hearing something that may or may not be present but which causes
an individual to believe it is beyond the realm of reality.

twinkie -n a female who goes to a party only because it is the 'in' thing to do, easily recognized
by shoes that are impossible to dance in and skimpy skirts.

mix -v (-ing -s) term used to describe when a DJ uses two records simultaneously and
seamlessly (one hopes) matches the beats together to create one continuous sound or
track
record -n a disc carrying recorded sound in grooves on each surface for reproduction on a
turntable
speed garage -n music; consisting of round-phat- marshmallow bass beats, usu. with an uplifting
tone
spin -v (-ing, -s) the act of mixing and playing records (who is going to spin next?)
stage -n 1. area where the DJ spins, usu. an elevated platform above the crowd
2. area which everyone who is someone or thinks they are someone tries to get behind
tag team -n two DJs playing at the same time but who switch off at regular intervals to let the
other spin
techno -n an overall general description of the music ravers listen to, usu. used by individuals
who are totally unfamiliar with the scene
throw down, threw down -v the act of spinning records (that dj threw down an amazing set)
trance music; a 4/4 beat often with layers of repetitive sounds and long sections of melody
resulting in very complex musical patterns
trainwreck -adv an unsuccessful attempt at beatmatching, results in a cacophony of

uncorrosponding sounds
Section 3: OBJECTS

bracelet -n an ornamental band worn around the wrist or arm usu. made from plastic beads and
a stretchy string.
fun fur -n a material commonly used as upside down V shaped inserts in pants, material is sewn
in down the outsideseam creating phat pants
glowstick -n a plastic chemical filled tube that when bent emits a low level glow for 5-6 hours.
glowsticks are normally used by inept people to accidentally whack passers by.
soother -n a plastic device with a chewable rubber protrusion used when one gets way too high
to prevent the chewing of a lip, tongue, or cheek.
2. decorative accessory worn by candy ravers
water -n colorless transparent liquid which is the main source of hydration for ravers. found
highlyoverpriced at concession stands or at the front of a long bathroom line-up
whistle -n instrument used to produce an annoying overbearing sound at parties. normally used
along with the beat but more commonly not even close. most whistle sounds follow
a 'da-da da da da' pattern
