Above & Beyond's Project Names

The boys work in mysterious ways... well, perhaps not mysterious but many anyhow. Here's an incredibly clear description of what Jono, Paavo & Tony do together.

Above & Beyond was the name given to the mix the boys did of Chakra "Home" - you can find that story elsewhere. Its our family name, our home page, our actual flavour.

OceanLab is the name we gave to our project with Justine Suissa and arose out of the oceanic subject matter of our first single (Clear Blue Water) and the software WaveLab which is a cool word. After we'd made it up we discovered that quite a few OceanLabs actually exists as sub aqua research facilities for Universities in Scotland, Germany and Russia.

Tranquility Base was a pseudonym used to disguise a remix we took back from an ungrateful label boss and made our own, and continues as a project name for our cooler, club only output. A small step for man, a giant leap for trancekind.

Tongue of God was a one off. There was only one Tongue of God and he was Jeff Buckley, and now we've done the only new Jeff Buckley record since his tragic death that's all there is to it.

Projects with other people (or alone)

Anjunabeats is a name Jono & Paavo used for the first ever track they wrote together "Anjunabeats - Volume One". As the label name was the same, they decided not to work under this name and in stead called themselves
Free State for the next two tracks they wrote: "Different Ways" and "Release".

Dirt Devils is Jono & Paavo again, but this is their alias for really tough & cheeky music.

Nitromethane is Tony and his brother Liam

Jono Grant vs. Mike Koglin and Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - These are pretty obvious aren't they? smile.gif

Aalto is Paavo and Miika Eloranta (Super8). Together they've created some enormous club material and their new single Taurine will be out soon.

P.O.S is Paavo, on his own. The initials have been suggested to mean Pissed On Stage, but perhaps a clearer one is Paavo Olavi Siljamäki.
